How Lookmax Analyzer Evaluates a Face Photo
Lookmax Analyzer estimates visible facial balance from one front-facing photo. It combines category-level analysis, presentation context, and photo-quality safeguards without relying on one universal beauty formula.

What the Face Analyzer Evaluates
The system groups related visual evidence into five understandable categories. This keeps the result useful without pretending every trait belongs to a single standard.
For a focused view of visible proportions, the facial ratios calculator shows 12 photo-based relationships separately from the overall score.
Jawline and lower face
Front-view lower-face balance, jaw framing, chin proportion, and visible definition.
Symmetry
Left-right agreement across several independently observed facial regions.
Eyes and upper face
Visible eye-area shape, spacing, alignment, openness, and brow support.
Cheekbones and midface
Midface framing, visible cheek structure, contour, and face taper.
Proportions
Vertical balance, horizontal spacing, and how features work together across the face.
How AI Face Analysis Works
Step 1
Check the photo
The analyzer first checks whether the face is visible enough and whether pose, expression, lighting, or framing may weaken the reading.
Step 2
Map visible structure
A dense landmark map identifies consistent facial regions so the image can be evaluated as geometry rather than by identity.
Step 3
Evaluate feature groups
Related observations are kept inside their own categories, so an eye-area signal does not become a jawline judgment.
Step 4
Apply context and safeguards
The selected presentation goal affects interpretation, while agreement and confidence checks prevent one uncertain cue from dominating the result.
Step 5
Turn the result into guidance
The free preview summarizes the result. Paid reports add deeper explanation and a personalized order of practical next steps.
Quality and Scoring Principles
No single perfect ratio
A face is not judged by one proportion. Multiple compatible signals and the balance between categories matter more than one isolated measurement.
Uncertainty stays visible
Missing or unreliable evidence is treated as uncertainty. It is not silently converted into a perfect result.
Categories stay explainable
Jawline, symmetry, eyes, cheekbones, and proportions remain separate so the displayed breakdown matches the type of evidence used.
The photo is part of the result
Scores describe what can be read from one image. A retake may be more useful than interpreting a distorted or low-confidence photo literally.
Why Scores Can Change Between Photos
Face scores are photo-based. A well-lit, centered image makes facial regions easier to compare. A close selfie, tilted head, strong expression, harsh shadow, or wide-angle lens can change the apparent geometry of the same face.
For the most consistent scan, use a neutral front-facing photo with even lighting, no heavy filter, and enough distance from the camera. Read the face-analysis photo guide for a repeatable setup.
Privacy and Data Handling
Core face analysis runs in your browser, so your photo is not uploaded to our server for scoring. Local analysis data can be cleared from the app, and analytics cookies are used only with consent.
Optional AI photo features are separate: when an eligible buyer actively chooses a styling preview or photo-aware report analysis, the interface explains that image processing before consent. See the privacy policy for the full details.
What We Publish—and What Remains Proprietary
We publish what customers need to judge the service responsibly: the categories evaluated, the role of photo quality, privacy behavior, interpretation guidance, and important limitations.
Exact coefficients, internal reference bands, calibration assets, and decision rules are proprietary. Keeping them private protects the model from gaming and copying; it does not change the limitations disclosed on this page.
Limitations and Boundaries
- A 2D front-facing photo cannot perfectly measure facial depth, side profile, bone structure, or real-world presence.
- Lighting, camera distance, lens distortion, expression, posture, hair, and facial hair can change what is visible.
- The result is an estimate of facial presentation in one image, not a fixed judgment of attractiveness, identity, or personal value.
- The app is not medical, dermatological, dental, orthodontic, cosmetic, or mental-health advice.

Face Analysis Methodology FAQ
What does 500+ facial data points mean?
The analyzer combines mapped facial positions with distinct derived measurements, including ratios, angles, and left-right differences. The 500+ figure counts those positions and measurements. It excludes segmentation mask pixels and does not count each coordinate separately.
How does AI face analysis work from one photo?
The analyzer checks photo suitability, maps visible facial regions, evaluates related feature groups, and presents a category-based result with photo-quality context. It evaluates the image rather than identifying the person.
Does the face score use one perfect beauty ratio?
No. Lookmax Analyzer considers several facial categories and treats ordinary variation as normal. One isolated ratio is not enough to decide the overall result.
Why can my face score change between photos?
Camera distance, lens choice, head angle, expression, lighting, and framing can change visible facial geometry. A neutral, level, front-facing photo produces the most consistent comparison.
Is my photo uploaded for face scoring?
No. Core face analysis runs in your browser. An image is sent to an external AI service only if an eligible buyer separately chooses the optional styling-preview feature.
What does a paid face analysis report add?
Paid plans add more explanation and actionability, such as deeper category context, prioritized improvements, and plan-specific guidance. You can review your own free preview before deciding to buy.
